Bonsai pots
Andrew Sankowski creates these unique bonsai pots that show a visual and tactile satisfaction with subtle differences and distinctions within the forms and glazes. They naturally compliment any bonsai they contain, giving new life to the plant. Each pot displays beauty, knowledge, skill and use of fine materials.
These pots are fired to almost 2400 degrees Fahrenheit or 1300 degrees Celsius. The accomplished craftsmanship not only gives each pot a quality, finished look, but also a hardy structure that is functional and made to last.
New pots are created monthly. Text Andy at 281-684-4411 to see what is available or can be commissioned.

What is Bonsai?
Bonsai is a Japanese art form using trees grown in containers. Similar practices exist in other cultures, including the Chinese tradition of penjing from which the art originated, and the miniature living landscapes of Vietnamese hòn non bộ. The Japanese tradition dates back over a thousand years. "Bonsai" is a Japanese pronunciation of the earlier Chinese term penzai. The word bonsai is often used in English as an umbrella term for all miniature trees in containers or pots.
The purposes of bonsai are primarily contemplation (for the viewer) and the pleasant exercise of effort and ingenuity (for the grower). By contrast with other plant cultivation practices, bonsai is not intended for production of food or for medicine. ~ Wikipedia
