Artist Statement

Water influences our daily life, the ebb and the flow of the tides, the rain that sustains our earth and the water we drink all make a difference in our lives.  With this in mind, I am working with water, thinning the paints and letting them flow. To achieve depth and a feeling of texture, I layer many thin layers of color.
I keep layering until I think it’s done, until everything works together.

Once I begin the process, I am immersed in the flow of the paint and the reactions of the colors to each other that often takes my work in unexpected directions. I love to experiment, try new things and ideas.  In the end ideas are exchanged and a new conversation is created via the artwork, the artist and the viewer.
